At just 29 years old, Álex Palou has firmly written his name into motorsport legend, clinching his fifth NTT IndyCar Series title at the Milwaukee Mile.
By sealing the 2026 crown with a race to spare, the Spaniard hasn’t just won another title—he has officially equaled Sébastien Bourdais’ record of four consecutive IndyCar championships (2023, 2024, 2025, 2026) and moved into outright third place on the all-time titles list behind only Scott Dixon (6) and A.J. Foyt (7).
The coronation took a chaotic path. Rain disrupted the weekend schedule at the Milwaukee Mile, forcing Race 1 to be suspended at lap 90 and rescheduled after Race 2.
Despite a frantic day of 410 miles of oval racing, Palou executed a calculated drive in his #10 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, taking a 10th-place finish in the resumed opening race—more than enough to mathematically lock out main title rival Kyle Kirkwood before the Laguna Seca finale.
